The meaning of the word mandala in Sanskrit is circle. Mandala is a spiritual & ritual symbol in Hinduism & Buddhism, representing the universe. The circular designs symbolise the idea that life is never ending & everything is connected. So during a Mandala Vinyasa practice you will be turning 360 degrees around the mat.
Each practice will have an intention focused on one of the four elements, based on the Mayan calendar, that bring connection between you & either Earth, Water, Fire or Air. Each element has a corresponding Chakra & group of muscles.
