Hatha Yoga is a classical and traditional form of Yoga. The Sanskrit word हठ haṭha literally means "force" and thus alludes to a system of physical techniques. The word “Hatha” has also been known to be a combination of “Ha” meaning ‘Sun’ and “Tha” meaning ‘Moon’. The practice of Hatha Yoga brings both the solar and lunar energies within us together in perfect balance.
In this Hatha class, you will experience a moving meditation which brings the element of mindfulness into the practice. With longer holds in each shape, this class gives you the time to quiet the mind, and use the breath to; facilitate alignment, open up space in areas of tension and purify the energetic channels.
Expect posture/asana practice with breathwork/pranayama, yoga philosophy and mantras all woven in one.
